All this hype about a football game, unable to watch the news on the tele, everything is taking second place or worse to the Steelers.

Getting ready for the game, buying new jerseys for the game, what was wrong with last years shirt?
Pre game parties and booze.
Pre game rallies and more booze.
Shopping for the game, gotta buy some booze.
Discussing the game, while drinking the booze, and now here I am, the only stone sober person in WPa, typing about the damn thing.

I'm sick of it amd now I do believe that it helped set a record for my lowest revenue producing Friday in twenty-one years.  Thirteen customers approached my counter and rented a video.  Hell I don't even feel like opening today.  How can one seamingly small event pre-occupy so many lives?  It's just a game, I'm sure some people will die because of it and the drinking, but will this game be a benefit to mankind other than making some iliterate, over-paid, already wealthy individuals, more so?

We have local high school sports here that does the same for my business, and we've only ever had one person from here become a professional ballplayer, back in the 40's.  You'd think it was important to the future of all these kids or something.  Sports is considered more important than academics in the school-they don't hire teachers unless they are a coach first, never mind if they know anything to teach.  And they don't even make state usually.

The Steelers going to the Superbowl is great for every business in town except the video business.  I cannot get over how long the lines were everywhere I went today.   Everyone was buying anything that had the Steeler colors on it.....food, clothing, napkins, etc.  In addition we are expecting a snowstorm overnight so people are buying food and drink as though they will be snowed in for weeks!  Usually the approaching snowstorm would help our business but everyone expects to be watching the game tomorrow and attending a pregame party tonight!
