Hey Misty

Another distributor to check is Flash.  I have had very few problems with them and get good posters regularly and movies on Fri.  No better prices but I like working with a smaller company.  It feels a little more personal doing bussiness with them.  They are out of Brooklyn, NY.

Unlike Ingram, Flash ships your catalog orders with your NR orders. There are some benefits to this.

But on the other hand, which is why I went with Ingram, is that I can order online, see my prices in real time, check orders & account status and their in-stock catalog is huge. With Flash, they usually have to order the catalog from the studio when you place an order. I'm not sure how that works but maybe they offer drop-shipment?

Another reason is that I could change my order last minute. Flash needs your pre-books in on time to insure your movies arrive by street. Personally I order once a month, this allows me to order based on a budget. There are no surprises at the end of the month for me this way. It sometimes means I will miss a couple pre-book dates but 99% of the time I get everything I ordered. Usually these are B titles and if they don't ship, my members won’t even miss it. If you take a look at the quantity of most titles after street date, you’ll see they usually always have a surplus. So I can actually order a movie that has past street date and have it here in a few days. This might happen if I underestimated the appeal of a particular title.

But knowing what I'm paying with a few clicks is a big deal for me. I can quote somebody a price on a title, right on the spot. People need and want instant gratification and information. I know I do.

misty,

there is a number you can call to get posters on warner movies for FREE, yes free.  I have the number at my store but you should be able to find/get it online or call vpd and get it.  If not wait and I will post it in a day or two when I can get back here.  I call every week and I deal with vpd but warner never gives posters to vpd, gotta get them direct.  Oh and for all of the discount believers, you dont get any discount better than anyone else its all a scam.  if you get a discount its THE discount.  The only real discount is Wal Mart.  Like normal your distributors and trying to rape you, its the nature of the business.

I have called and called all the companies - faxed & mailed copies of invoices, signed up on their websites, etc, etc and haven't yet (over 1 year) received anything other than a Poohs Heffalump stand-up and about 10 buttons (for a movie that I can't recall the name of right now - it's right on the tip of my tongue....)  1 week AFTER the movie's street date!

I kinda figured I just didn't do enough with the distributor for the movie companies to mess with me -  since we do buy a lot at W/M???
