It will cost you more in time than the price of most expensive software on the market, to develop even the most rudimentary functions in excel or access.

I remember my manual system of 15-some years ago.  Roladex file with the customers.  Hand-written receipts that we clipped to the empty boxes of the rented movies which were rubber-banded together and shelved behind the counter.  Overdue movies were determined by the location of their boxes on the shelf.  Late fees were noted on our copy of the receipt, which was clipped to the card in the Roladex file.

You can't afford to NOT computerize.

for the first 6 months of our store, we used paper slips. Wrote down the movie number and title, price, total, got the customer to sign and put their phone number. When the movie came back, we put a line thru the slip and put it into an envelope.

It sucked. Took a LONG time, couldnt track customers, or late charges. The POS paid for itself in a month, with lates, taking less time, and having customer accounts. Its well worth it!!

Thanks everyone! I downloaded The Ultimate free version and I'll play with that and see if I can get my tiny brain around it.  I very much appreciate all the advice.

I said Amazon RESELLERS.  Not Amazon.  The biggest titles of 3 or more months ago are the ones that have the biggest glut, and therefore the lowest prices.

Find a few Amazon RESELLERS with good inventory and prices, and contact them directly for purchasing a large quantity.  $5 would be very realistic, since you are bypassing the Amazon commission.

Hie, am in Botswana and would like to find a distributor. Unfortuately, many of the distributors do not operate outside of the USA or Canada. The Amazon Resellers sound like a good alternative which I'd like to explore. Might you happen to have their contact detail?

All your help is appreciated.

King regards,
Jamila
