Do they really give you a bigger discount the longer you are with them?  I think the amount he quoted was 15%

My Walmart is ok most of the time but I did pay $26.00 for Oliver Twist.  I thought this was maybe going to be a good family kind of movie but yesterday I had all my Flightplan and The Fog rented out and my "2" Oliver Twists are sitting here!  Bad choice I guess.

I am going to call Ingram today, thank you.

Just called Ingram, they said that they do not deliver to Canada.  Is that for real?

ingram doesnt do canada and entertainment one will not give you a better discount, unless you boost your sales by hundreds. We were only getting a 10% discount from them, and when we told them another company (that isnt around anymore) is offering a better discount, they told us to switch.

That sucks!  I guess they get away with it because we have nowhere else to go.

I get 10 of each big movie sometimes as many as 16.  They sell alot better than what you may think.  Here is what I do to get movies back early.  Have an early return program.  This of course only works on two day rentals, give a point for an early return, any nr brought back the day before before 6, when they get 6 points they get a free rental.  Man I got 18% of my customers bringing moives back early.  Its like having 30% more copies of fog without paying for them.  Try something along this line.

Thats a great idea Joe, the only problem I would have with that is tracking the points or really tracking anything - I am using a POS program called Bogarts or some such thing.  Anyone else using this?  You do get what you pay for but some mistakes are going to be VERY costly to replace.  IE - I know I'm going to need a new program.

You have to get Video Visions Plus, the cost is really low, like 500.00 for a the program with extra reporting.  Get a cash draw with your computer and scanner.  Its the only way to go the program has a barcode printer.  This program is the best around, try out the demo asap just google video forcasting - best decision Ive ever made

Thanks, I'll try to find it.  I have 3 issues now - I need posters, a disk repair machine and a good POS software oh yeah, I'm thinking of getting a slush machine for the spring/summer season.  I better start renting more than 10 NR a day!!!!!!!

hey I am also interested in a slush type machine let me know what you find out

Joe

But def dont be afraid to swith to VVP I had an old dos so I had to enter each movie in one by one and it was brutal but I didnt have a choice, I had 6000 inventory by the way.  The program is easy to use but it does take some configuring to set it up like you want it, get a handheld scanner with stand and it works great.  You barcode the case you send the dvd out in and that is what you scan in and out.  any questions you have on this program fire them to my email and I will help you with it, rjsnyder1@verizon.net

Sounds crazy but I have been searching for VVP and can't find it!

On the slush machine search, I have only just started but yesterday PEPSI put me in touch with their contacts and the guy who called me wanted to come out to my location and discuss it (that made me leary right there) so I said "bottom line how much?"     refrubished.....  get this...... $13,000.00.

Everyone I've told said I must have heard wrong, $1300.00 maybe.  I'll let you know when I get info from them in the mail.

you might want to think of just leasing a machine for the summer months. At our store we have Slush Puppy. The lease from April-August (summer months) is $750
the cost to buy it is $4995

if this is something u r interested in, check this site out
harlanfairbanks.com/contact thats the page for inquiries, and you can browse thru what they offer on the rest of the site.

Heres the cost/profit sheet for Slush Puppy
