I understand things happen, but be willing to pay the late charges.


"I don't have a ride down there"     (its 3 o'clock you have lots of time to return it & you live 2 blocks away)

"I was at the hospital" (for the past 20 days?)

"My car is stuck in the garage" (are your legs broken?)

"I have my kids" (a lot of people do...)

And the always wonderful....."Well my friend borrowed them from me so can you put the late charges on his account?"

This happened to me one time:

Customer: I already paid those late fees off. In fact, I paid for them 4 times already! Why do you always make me pay for the same late fees?

owner: Uhm, Sir you were told about your $2 late fee the last 4 times you ented, but you chose not to pay them.

Customer: No I know I paid them!

owner: I have your account history right here on the screen, do you want me to show it to you?

Customer: What if I bring in a receipt for prove that I already paid

owner: Please do, I will look into it

Customer: You are a f#$%ing moron! [customer exits, stage left]

owner: [sais with hindu/pakistani accent] Thank you, come again

and lets not forget  the famous
"you wouldn't have rented it any way so why are you charging me"

A couple come into the store one night and want to set up the guy an account. Well he didnt have a DL, ID or anything so we said we couldnt help him. We asked if the girl had the neccesary items to set up an account. She did so we checked to see if she had an account already (they seemed a bit suspicious). Turns out that she did. She had $30 worth of late fees from 6 months before. When we asked her about it she said that she had never been in the store before. We asked her her phone numbers and double checked all the info to make sure we didnt make a mistake. Well it was all the same. She said that someone must of stole her DL and set up the account and rented the movies and then returned them late.

I took her word for it and let her rent. LOL, just kidding. We told her that there was no way that could of happened. She then becomes irrate with us and said that we were rude and she would never rent from us again.

Oh, well. LOL
