I bought one last night, and I know a couple of you own one as well.

I was greeted Monday to a disc that an employee cleaned that had a circle burned through the artwork side of the disc.  On the information side of the disc the same sized circle was raised above (think of a blister).

I called and they insisted that it was impossible for that to happen, but my employee insists as well that she put it in correctly.  I have noticed that the high heat is melting the artwork onto the rubber pad that you place the disc on.

Of course, the disc was part of an expensive box set and pretty much brand new, so I know it is not worn out.  Anyone else having problems?

I haven't noticed anything like that happening so far and I've used about half the first batch of supplies (so around 300 minutes run time).  I did see that the rubber platter was getting darker and that seemed to be leaving streaks on the label side of a disc, so I scrubbed it under warm water and everything went back to normal.

I had them program the machine for 30s, 60s or 120s run times instead of 1 min, 2 min, 4 min.  So the longest it goes at once is 2 minutes, not sure if that makes a difference either.

I'm still very happy with the purchase and have only run into 2 discs that coudn't be fixed.  They look perfect, not a scratch left, but they just won't play.  No scratches on label side either, so I guess they're just a lost cause.

edit: any chance you can post a picture of the damaged disc?
