I'm using the newest Phoenix software Version 10 and for the life of me I can't find out how to do Pay On Return. I thought I remembered Tom talking about doing this but any help across the board would be great

I have Phoenix version 8. I think the only way to set that up is to have your late/extra day fee be your rental rate. In the pricing matrix you can specify a specific charge per day, otherwise it defaults to a pro-rated amount based on the original rental rate and days.

If Tempus allows it, surely Phoenix V10 does! Or maybe not but it damn sure should. Its been a couple months back but I thought he had it set to where the card on file was charged upon return. I was thinking about trying some things and this was one but maybe I just mis-read and this isn't possible

I use PHX. I'll look on Monday if you haven't found it by then. I don't use it but I think it is available.

Thanks Thomas. I would think for sure that its available especially if its on Alerion. I tinkered with stuff and read the manual back and forth but can't seem to find it. Let me know what you find and thanks again

I thought for sure it was a feature. If it is, I couldn't find it. Sorry.

On the menu bar click "Customer", "A.R. Functions", "Toggle Invoice on Account". You can also right-click the individual items on the transaction screen and click "Place Item on Account". To make it even easier you can set up an "F key" shortcut; Editor- "Configuration", "Operational Controls", "Transaction Settings", "Key Mappings" to assign shortcut keys. When you check the items back in the system prompts for payment.

Yeah I know how to place items on account. Unfortunately that only 'prompts' for payment and doesn't actually process it. Appreciate the input, maybe Phoenix will add it in with their next upgrade. I'll email them on it

Of course. Are you talking about a way to run a credit card but hold the transaction until the dvds get returned (presumably so any late fees are included)? That might not be a bad idea.

Yeah thats exactly what I'm wanting to do. I'm getting ready to try $1 rentals w/ a 9.99 a month membership but the only way I can see it working is to ensure that the number of nights the movie is rented is paid for every time. There's just no way you can afford to let the fees "ride" so to speak and hope they get paid.
Phoenix has an A/R report, I'll just have to print one of those off and run it daily while I try this out
