I bad mouth Redbox whenever I can.  ; )
I mention that 28 day window every chance I get and I make a point that LOTS of people are stopping using Redbox because of the badly scratched discs, adding that we check and buff each disc. Almost everyone who has ever used Redbox has gotten a scratched disc once in a while, so the idea that it's a frequent occurrence helps deter users because they don't want to run the risk.
I also casually comment that I would be uncomfortable swiping my debit card into a machine that I didn't know who had access to my info or that I wasn't sure was secure from hacking.
I keep it very low key and matter of fact and I never bring it up myself. All in all, my smear campaign seems to work. I've won many customers away from Redbox. (Well, they rent from me on a regular basis anyway.)

We are verrrrry slow! When school starts, it is dead. And with the heat wave no one has any extra money for anything. Everyone's electric bill is crazy!!!! The slow time, Aug.-Oct. should be called dead period.
