Hi All I have a Azuradisc 1600 that is 7 years old and works great. Recently the motor has gotten louder and I fear a replacement is on the horizon. Newer machines have come out and have reduced the repair time. The VMI 3500 and the Dual disc II are competitors. Which one is the clear winner here.
Any comments are appreciated.
Thanks JD

I'm in need of a new repair machine as well but there's no way I can afford an RTI. Movie Gallery is selling their JFJ dual disc machine for $300 (the same one is around $650 on JFJ website) so I'm considering it. But compared to the RTI machines it's so much work and mess involved so I'm hoping for something better to come along. Any suggestions?

RTI also has a payment plan so you may try that. Talk To Sherwin Berger, he's the nicest sale rep I've ever talked to.

You mean there are other re-surface machines? Seriously, RTI.

If you get anything other than RTI you are just throwing your money away.
If you get another for free sell it and put the money towards an RTI machine you will be miles ahead in the end.

Maybe so but RTI doesn't lease and their refurb machines start at $1650, I can't afford that right now but I do need something. I went to Movie Gallery to pick up some shelving and the guy in charge of liquidating this store asked if I wanted the JFJ machine and offered it to me for $150. It still has enough supplies to fix a couple hundred discs as well and the machine itself is only a few months old, so I bought it. Any money I make with it, whether repairing customer discs or fixing my own so I can resell them, will go in a jar to help pay for an RTI.
And yes, Sherwin Berger (awesome name) is indeed a nice fellow.

RTI most definitely leases. I am leasing two machines right now.
I started with a jewelry polisher and worked my way up to RTI. Along the way was JFJ and Venmill. Don't make my mistakes... call them Monday.

We had 2 RTI machines, however the echosmart blows it away, the autosmart is a actual sander & buffer and the RTI is only a buffer. If you're gonna drop that kinda of money you will get more out of your money on the echosmart.

I think you meant Venmill instead of RTI correct? Because the Echosmart is an RTI machine.
I've said it many time here but if you're only able to have one disc repair machine then the RTI machines are the best option. Personally I wouldn't be without both RTI and Venmill in my stores. They both serve a different purpose for us.

Allow me to clarify, they lease through a 3rd party who does not deal with Canada (from what I was told). I have a credit card I could buy it with but I just spent nearly 3 years fighting my way out of credit card debt and I will not buy anything unless I have the cash in hand to pay it off right away. Some day I will have an RTI, but today is not that day.

I agree. I have a 4 year old VenMill which is okay for cosmetic repairs. I bought an Ecosmart last December and it is incredible. Over the years I had saved 400 - 500 DVDs and games I could not repair with the VenMill. I repaired 99% with the Ecosmart, and sold them all through the winter and spring.
Does anyone have one of the higher level RTI machines that repairs Blu-Ray? I have a new PS3 game that is damaged and would like to find someone I could send it to for repair.
