This isn't being sexist...I'm just wondering...how many stores are owned by women now? I know there have been a few, but how many of you are left? Give a shout out.

There's nothing sexist about asking that.  It's funny because when you posted on my FB wall (Hi back by the way!) I said to myself "Huh, I would've never guess she was a girl on the forum!" only b/c it just never occured to me for some reason that there might be women out there who owned stores.

I'm not sure what it is about the difference between men and women but for some reason, I can't think of more than 1 woman who owns a business.  Not sure if women are just less risk averse or just think they can't do it or what but ive said to some women I know "why don't you start your own business?".  I know that they are smart and hard working enough to do it so I guess it's a little confusing.

Congrats on your continued success!

My wife says the smart women let their husbands deal with the hassles and simply tell us how the business is going to be ran!  Wink

EVW,
I take your comment that you didn't realize I was a girl as a compliment. It gave me a good chuckle. This is actually the fifth business I've owned. I run the video store and two others now. The first two I let go because...well my life situation changed. I guess I'm definitely not afraid of risk. LOL They were, (are) all successful, to the glory of God!

Addendum, the video store is my main focus and primary business.

Movie Mania is woman owned, I've had the store for 6 years now and have owed two other businesses in the past. Thinking about opening up a new store where the Movie Gallery closed about 20 miles away from me.
