Hi guys, I'm a little bored today so I figured we could share stories of the customer types that annoy us the most.

Between yesterday & today I had 2 customers that each had 2 catalog titles out 12 or more days late.  Both are the type that don't rent for six or so months then are really late brining back and think it's our fault.

Yesterday's guy yelled at my brother, (new employee & his first p/o customer), because he felt he shouldn't have to pay that much for late movies.  I charge .99 a day late for catalog titles, but if they are nice about I take some off.  His movies were 13 days late each.  I was nice and took off half since they had a death in the family (though it was mainly to stop his yelling at my employee).  They hadn't been in for a year and one of the rentals was free.

Today, I had a woman who returned 2 movies (catalog titles) 12 days late.  She payed the late fee after complaining a little.  She was upset about paying $24 for 2 movies a 12 days late but last year rented a Star Wars dvd and kept 30 days late a didn't bat an eye at the fee ($30).

Maybe my fees are a little high for catalog titles but I feel if I lowered the fees the always late ones will keep the rentals out longer and I'd lose even more.

If anyone has any stories to share that'd be great.

Man, after 10 days I hit the cc on file for late fees and cost to replace the movie - 10 days is our cut off, if we can't hit their cc they get sent to collections after 30 days. I'll post more later about customer types, just reading how late they were made me want to post that lol.

so far, every time that I or my predessor tried to charge the credit card it was denied.  Who do you use for collection and do they have reasonable rates?

More importantly "ARE THEY ABLE TO COLLECT ANYTHING"?

I have sent accounts to collections and it has almost been a waste to time and effort.
