I'm definitely not complaining.  We had the third highest snowfall on record, and we are way ahead as well.

I think this April's releases are worse than they have been for the past few years. Last week came to a screeching halt on Friday. We finally had a nice weather day for the kids who were off last week.

May releases look better, at least movies that people have heard of and then our summer business is pretty decent do to the influx of people coming to their summer homes from Chicago.

We rented 8, not a typo... 8 movies this past Monday.  It was the opening day game for the Phillies, but unfortunately, the Phillies aren't paying our rent. LOL.  Sales have been brisk, yesterday we took in 2 times more in sales of previewed movies than what we took in rentals.

Our store has not slowed down that much. It's just not as busy. When school is out is picks up. My slowest times are April due to ball games, August due to school starting back, and Sept. & Oct. due to everyone being broke from school starting back. The rest of the months are great. This weekend was awesome and it didn't even rain.

No rain til today. Friday was very good, Saturday sucked and Sunday (today) was above average but I don't think it as anything to do with the rain.

Rain and Snow used to be good for us but that was when people (kids) actually did stuff outside and bad weather ruined that.  It's rare I see kids playing outside these days.

 Undecided
I guess it's different in different places. I wish all of you would do very well. I will keep praying that video stores never die. Mine is doing better than the past 2 years. I know that advertising on facebook has helped. I have been doing this for 22 years now and I was 22 when I started it. This is what I've done my entire adult life and I don't know what I would do if it did die. I have kept true to my prices of $1.89 and rent 2 get 1 free. I have always gave a free rental for birthdays. I get everything that is new as soon as I know it's going to take off such as blu ray and ps3...I rent machines, which is hard to do because of all the theives....but I have stayed the same and tried not to get too confusing like blockbuster did, I think they hurt themselves trying to change things so often. Simple is better! We all need to help each other in this. I will help all I can. Remember that the clerks you hire means everything!!!!

We are still doing well. There has been quite a bit of rain and it has helped. My slowest months are Aug. Sept. & Oct. They have been the slowest for 21 years now. The economy has picked up quite a bit. Any ideas for the slowest months?

April, usually our second slowest month, blew the top off for us this year! May, on the other hand, not so much, but then families have been concentrating on the end of the school year which ended early this year - today in fact. Today was good so I'm looking to a great rebound weekend. Hope you all have great weekend as well.

Well the rain has helped this summer. It has rained a lot. We have our busy days and our slow days as usual. I am really dreading the dead period.....August, Sept. & Oct. I use that time to clean everything, change things around and give clerks time off. It will be awesome if it rained during those months, but it never does.

It was a long, hot, boring summer! Same slow times....maybe a bit slower than usual, but has never been this hot this long! The tanning hurt this year due to the humidity. No one wanted to tan inside. Sometimes I think it's a waste of money because all it does is heat up our store and the electric bill takes all the profit we make from tanning. Utilities seems like they have tripled since the min. wage hike. The min. wage was crazy! I could see paying factory workers more, but video clerks...no. The slow times I am paying for people to just stand around. Just when you think it's doing great, summer hits hard. There has to be something that we can do for the SLOW months!

Yeah, I'm being creamed by nice weather, no rain and the county fair... plus five hundred other events right now.  My competition isn't BBV, Redbox or Netflix, it's the town I live in!

Even still, I'm on track to meet or beat last year's gross which was my best year ever.  It rained every day during the summer of 2009.  Good times good times.
