IMO....If anyone here thinks that they will be operating their store in the exact same manner in 5 years as they are today...you might as well go ahead and close your doors.  If you don't have the ability to adapt (even to something as drastic as $6.99 price points), you better stop investing all your money into your business because you will just loose it all.

i think investing at his point is just mad, we should just try to get the money we alredy put in our stores, my 2 cents anyway, and i do agree with j4kp07, by 2010 , video store will have to change drasticaly, and prices will be lowered, i got a friend that works for a big online company (dvdimport.com) and they are alredy in talk with the studios to put NR @ 14.99 b4 the end of this year (by xmas to be precise)

yep, thanks for all the feedback. All these experiences I have had too (with excception of going at midnight (my local is closed..) and target is outta my way..... again, my local (2 miles away max) has been mostly good for ex: having all or most of the product at their lowest price by 8am or so on tues morn..sometimes, yes i see a lower price on weds or thurs.. I just take my orig, rcpt back and ask that they adjust my price...(sometimes that process can be a MAJOR hassle tho depending upon who is behind the returns counter) but again for the most part, my local has had the same faces in DVD dept and CSM for over a year....BUT just in the last few weeks, the DVD dept manager has been getting a lot of static from other custs...and she says her store manager has been the one to limit copies, but her attitude has really soured...now I understand 'cos I find myself realllll SURLY in my own store some days, but you gotta suck that sh*t up...and be at least civil with customers....Now seeing that the other WM on the way to my store does not limit copies, I may just take my TUES morns to another WM....but i guess in the end..the money still goes to the Walton family. thanks again for the input.
