I've been reading reports where economists are saying that we are now in recovery, does anyone agree?  I have slowly seen business bounce back the last month but feel it is just because summer vacation is over and some good titles are finally coming out.  Although this week has been quite good for mid-September!

What does everyone else think?

Then I won't say how we're doing...

We all know how the economy works.  They say we're doing better, but it will take a few more months until we see it.

I have several customers in the housing business, building and selling, and they say that business has picked up quite a bit.  Which of course I was glad to hear.

The last 2 months (July & August) have been rough, but certainly not the worst this store has weathered.  July of 2006 almost closed us and that was the month I started at this store.

Both July and August were record months for us. However we do have a good summer business because of all the people from Chicago with summer homes.

September is our slowest month of the year however we are running about 20% ahead of last year at this time.

The trades guys that I have talked to are not yet seeing and increase so far and with winter coming they are not expecting anyhing to really improve til spring. The other layoffs in manufacturing seem to have slowed down as I think most of the cuts have already been made.

A lot of my customers that have been looking for work say that there just isn't anything out there yet.
