I totally get where Scott is going with his suggestion. Once upon a time I used those sites more than this site because I looked up individual movies. Now when a garbage bag of movies comes in, I count titles and say, "50 movies? $25 bucks" Pre September I said, "50 movies? $50 bucks."
I think in a heavy B/S/T business, there is no time to look up individual titles. Even if you can scan them with a barcode they probably aren't woth looking up. In my small shop we have a one person crew. Having that person punch in titles, sometimes you get error messages, sometimes the net freezes, sometimes your looking at a copy of the Best of the 3 Stooges and your thinking, "why am I looking this up at all?" Thats when I stopped looking up movies all together.
B/S/T movies are titles people don't want. 90% of them are junk. There will be exceptions to the rule. I know the collected Friday the 13th movies is worth more than Band of Brothers because the 1st is out of print and the 2nd is owned by everyone. But those are rare exceptions to the rule. Last night we bought Panic Room, PLatoon, Mercury Rising, Friday 13th (cooincidence I swear), the Edge, Lorenz's Oil, Like Father Like Sone, Broken Arrow, American Ninja. $Five Bucks. I opened them up, made sure they were actually in the case, then said, "Five Bucks." It took about 20 seconds to close the deal.
Now if there was a way that we could have a website of our own so we could take B/S/T from people on the net, then I would be interested.
Just material to consider,
Chuck
