DEC. 15 | Redbox is spreading into the 7-Eleven chain Shocked, as it targets the convenience store market for future growth opportunities Roll Eyes.

Starting this month and continuing through next year, Redbox will be installing its DVD rental machines into 2,600 7-Eleven locations nationwide. This will add to select spots within gas station-based convenience chains Maverik, Thorntons and Royal Farms.

This makes much more sense than WalMart.

WalMart is just so big, crowded, and time wasting. I can't imagine heading out that way and going through the hassle to return a movie at WalMart.

I think you are missing the point...IMO RedBox's plan it to have machines everywhere...On Monday you rent a DVD at the grocery store...on Wednesday you return it to the gas station and rent another...on Friday  you return it to Walmart and rent another and so it goes  Roll Eyes

I assume you realize that the DVD does NOT have to be returned to where it was rented  Shocked

I kinda thought the same thing about the wal-mart location BUT, I see that it's out of most titles through out the week.
I not only under estimated ppl renting from there and returning somewhere else but the pure number of employees they have on a daily basis.

We have a Redbox at the local Giant (right next to BB).  I have really the effects of it anywhere as much as BB has but I do have some people come in to get something because Redbox was out of it.  Keep in mind thought that they still can't the the experiance at Redbox that they can get here and Redbox has only space for 500 DVD's total.

I'm in a strip center and we have a Winn-Dixie grocery store. Monday Redbox was installing a machine
there. I'm just a few doors away. I called my landlord and voiced my concern. Long story short, Redbox is being removed today. Grin
