I have received an ofer for my rental store and am now in negotions to sell it.  I am wondering if anyone would like to point out any "potholes" that I should watch out for during this process.  Are there any problem areas I should give any special attention to?  Of course...  Thanks in advance for any time given!

Zonk, I'd venture a guess as to why noone is responding if you don't mind...

Those that have sold stores are glad to be away from this maturing business and are not interested in the on-line trade sites.  So this only leaves current owners who are happy with their lives and those that would love to find a buyer fro their store(s).

Interesting reply Ed.  I hope, if I sell my store, that I am able to divorce myself from this business and that I do not find myself reading these video forums.  Some wishful thinking at this point.  I do find some merit to your reply.  I'll have to give it some more thought.   Thanks!!!

By the way...  I have been off-line for nearly two (2) weeks having picked up this weeks internet virus/bug.

I've sold one of my stores about 8 years ago.

tip #1....Get all the money upfront, don't get caught holding the note.
While holding a note may help expedite the sale...In the video business, you might as well write off the amount held as a loss.

tip #2....Make sure if you have a non compete agreement..it doesn't unreasonably restrict you from doing something else in the immediate area.
