Server Attacked...

Last Sunday our server was attacked with a "Distributed Denial of Service" attack... otherwise known as a Ddos attack. It took down the entire network where our server was hosted for 2 hours before they could shut off the server.

Because of this they cancelled our account. They finally reactivated it after they determined that it was not caused by anything we did. When they did this they didn't email me or notify me in any way.

Thursday I finally got access to our data again from them and proceeded to move us to a different host. It will take some time before everything catches up DNS wise with the videostorecentral.com domain name. Until then please use http://vsc.five-star.com to get to the site.

I didn't lose any data this time, just a LOT of time and effort. When they gave me back the data it was just piled into a huge directory with everything uninstalled. Not fun.

Hopefully I got most things working, the rest should be within a few days.

Tell me about it. And the first host I tried blocked my home computer from uploading because it was too fast or something then claimed they didn't! This just is not my week. Oh did I mention my washing machine stopped working?

I am pretty sure that if it storms I will be struck down by lightning as my house is torn away by a tornado that drops a ton of bricks on my foot.

You are a victim of "seasonal transitional disorder"  on top of it being a full moon, the weather is changing...this causes distress and things that can break....do break.  It's also the time that crazy people come out their holes and enter our stores.  Fortunately, in a few weeks...the transition will settle down and hopefully things will get back to normal.  I too lost two computers in one week during this trying time.  Good Luck
