I'd thought I'd share what I found to be the top renters in my store for 2003.  I'd especially love to hear what's working for the rest of you guys out there as well.  Keep it to the smaller titles please...

DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND
AMERICAN MULLET
SORDID LIVES
MAY
MOVERN CALLAR
WILD ZERO
FRANK ZAPPA BABY SNAKES
MR SHOW SEASON 3
DAVE CHAPPELLE STANDUP
OWNING MAHOWNY
LOVE LIZA
IRREVERSIBLE
HOUSE OF FOOLS
ALL THE REAL GIRLS
WILCO I AM GOING TO BREAK YOUR HEART

Any other quick-renting action or horror out there?  Always can use more!

Surprized to see Sorrid Lives on your listing.  I had one brave individual at each store rent it on VHS, four copies with a total of two rents, sure glad it was a PPT output title.   It was a bit better on DVD though, four copies DVD, five rentals.

Where is your store located?  I'm in North Carolina and this movie seems to remind a lot of my customers of relatives.  I have one copy that has rented about 15 times, and still two or three a week.

I just opened in Aug. but some of the B-movies that did real well for us so far are:

Equalibrium: Top B-movie for us. I tell everyone that likes the Matrix to check it out. So far everyone that rented it liked it. It also stars Christian Bale, the next Batman. That is another good renting point.

Finders Fee: It has alot of good young actors and also James Earl Jones so it apeals to the young and old. Great plot and a good twist at the end. Can put it in the customers hands and feel good about it. I actually had a reservation list for this one that lasted about a week.

In Hell: Van Dame movie but not cheezy at all. Fans of his will like it and people that don't like it will rent it to see him get his ass kicked a few times.

Owning Mahony: Great story and it really happened. People love a true story about a guy that has more problems then they do.

Killing Emmett Young: Cool story line. A little disappointing ending but people liked it.

Poolhall Junkies: Christopher Walken gives one of the greatest comebacks in this one. Great Flim

The Eye: I tell people that Tom Cruise bought the rights to this movie and is going to remake it in English, just like what happened to "The Ring". WARNING: make sure to tell them it's in subtitles.

Hitcher 2: Some remember the first one and it has a great opening scene.

Going Greek: The people that rented Old School really went for this one. Funny with a real Frat feel to it.

With my customers I've worked hard at giving them good movies. If they ask me I will tell them if I did or did not like a movie. They really appreiciate that and are more willing to try a B-movie that I tell them is good. Sacrificing one bad movie to gain more good movie rentals is always worth it.

Marc I'm from south west Pennsylvania, specifically Elizabeth and Mt. Pleasant, Elizabeth is 15 miles south east of Pittsburgh, Mt. Pleasant is approx. 30 miles south east of Pittsburgh up near the ski areas.

Is there some reason for the lack of location in most users profiles?

And my name is Ed Reynolds, stores Movies 'n' More.
